Arctic Monkeys third album in the makin???

The Arctic Monkeys are to get a "kick up the arse" from Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme when he takes over production duties for them next month.

They will abandon their native Sheffield and head for Rancho De La Luna studios in Joshua Tree, California, Homme's favourite studio where he has produced his own outfits QOTSA and Eagles Of Death Metal, as well as Mark Lanegan and PJ Harvey.

Homme explained: "I think they just want to experience something that's opposite to what they're used to [in the UK] and it's a good place to go to ... make some music for the sake of making music."

The sessions could end up as Arctic Monkey's album number three, which they are currently working on. Drummer Matt Helders recently commented, "We're all into Queens Of The Stone Age. When we got to play with them and see them live [in Texas last year] it gave us a kick up the arse ... They show you can still have top tunes and loud, heavy songs, too. It's a lot more fun playing loud music - simple as that."

Um.. Excited..Can't wait

My New Job

Today is my third day at my new job..
So far so gd , m enjoying myself, i know i will have a fun time workin here, everyone seen very nice.
Although this job will not be easy but its something i enjoy , so i will get by..
Yesterday i was at a talk by Landmark Forum , very interesting , its about how u can do better in life, the cover of the intro thing they hand out ( not very gd english i know but i dont care..) it said Of course, everyone wants an extraordinary life. The Question is, what does it take to have an extraordinary life every single day? sound scary right ? well to be frank after the meetin , i do feel i did get something out of it, and alot of the stuff they said do make sense..
Like how we always use our past to judge our future, what they mean by that is, sometime we don;t do something is becoz of our past experience, so it limit us to take a step out of our comfort zone..dont know if that make any sense , i guess u will have to be there to understand..as i m not the best people to express myself , let alone express what i have learn , but i have to thanks Sergio for takin me , it really was n eye opening experience. I do think everyone can take something from it, no matter if u r successful or not..
anywho better get on with some work...Che Figo ( That's Hot in Italian )

Nike Air Max 90 Burger by Olle Hemmendorff

Nike Sportswear has commissioned 8 high-profile creatives to interpret 8 different Nike Sportswear icons. Creative director Olle Hemmendorff was chosen to do the Air Max 90, and without a doubt, he took the shoe to another level that makes us all drool with desire. Hemmendorff transformed the shoes into a burger with cheese accents and meat patty sole. These sneakers are probably as fresh as they come, but the question remains, does he only make them when we order it?

Beijing Olympics: Faking scandal over girl who 'sang' in opening ceremony

Chinese officials have admitted deceiving the public over another highlight of the Olympic opening ceremony: the picture-perfect schoolgirl who sang as the Chinese flag entered the stadium was performing to another girl's voice.

The girl in the red dress with the pigtails, called Lin Miaoke, 9, and from a Beijing primary school, has become a national sensation since Friday night, giving interviews to all the most popular newspapers.
But the show's musical designer felt forced to set the record straight. He gave an interview to Beijing radio saying the real singer was a seven-year-old girl who had won a gruelling competition to perform the anthem, a patriotic song called "Hymn to the Motherland".
At the last moment a member of the Chinese politburo who was watching a rehearsal pronounced that the winner, a girl called Yang Peiyi, might have a perfect voice but was unsuited to the lead role because of her buck teeth.
So, on the night, while a pre-recording of Yang Peiyi singing was played, Lin Miaoke, who has already featured in television advertisements, was seen but not heard.
"This was a last-minute question, a choice we had to make," the ceremony's musical designer, Chen Qigang, said. "Our rehearsals had already been vetted several times - they were all very strict. When we had the dress rehearsals, there were spectators from various divisions, including above all a member of the politburo who gave us his verdict: we had to make the swap."
Mr Chen's interview gave an extraordinary insight into the control exercised over the ceremony by the Games' political overseers, all to ensure the country was seen at its best.
Officials have already admitted that the pictures of giant firework footprints which marched across Beijing towards the stadium on Friday night were prerecorded, digitally enhanced and inserted into footage beamed across the world.
Mr Chen said the initial hopefuls to sing the anthem had been reduced to ten, and one, a ten-year-old, had originally been chosen for the quality of her voice. But she, too, had fallen by the wayside because she was not "cute" enough.
"We used her to sing in all the rehearsals," Mr Chen said. "But in the end the director thought her image was not the most appropriate, because she was a little too old. Regrettably, we had to let her go."
At that point Yang Peiyi stepped up to the plate.
"The main consideration was the national interest," he said. "The child on the screen should be flawless in image, in her internal feelings, and in her expression. In the matter of her voice, Yang Peiyi was flawless, in the unanimous opinion of all the members of the team."
That was until attention turned to Yang Peiyi's teeth. Nevertheless, Mr Chen thought the end result a perfect compromise.
"We have a responsibility to face the audience of the whole country, and to be open with this explanation," he said. "We should all understand it like this: it is a question of the national interest. It is a question of the image of our national music, our national culture.
"Especially at the entrance of our national flag, this is an extremely important, an extremely serious matter.
"So we made the choice. I think it is fair to both Lin Miaoke and Yang Peiyi - after all, we have a perfect voice, a perfect image and a perfect show, in our team's view, all together."
One question remains: why was Lin Miaoke allowed to give interviews in which she lapped up the praise for her singing. Mr Chen said she might not have known that the words she was singing could not be heard. She had, in fact, only known she was going to perform at all 15 minutes beforehand.
Yang Peiyi is said to have reacted well to the disappointment. "I am proud to have been chosen to sing at all," she is reported to have said.

Martin Margiela Is a Fashion Man's Dream

The image of Martin Margiela consists of a never-photographed designer who irreverently sends outré looks down the Paris runway on models shadowed by lab coat-wearing employees. The distilled identity of Margiela's wares, however, is that of a masculine uniform for clued in men working in fashion and other creative industries.

We count several Margiela devotees among our discerning network of tastemakers. They buy new pieces—which are not always distinguishable—from season to season, and opt for dusty-colored button downs, leather jackets, louche suits, sober fisherman-inspired knits, sneakers that look like Eastern Bloc basics and, of course, the ever-popular serialized t-shirts. It comes as no surprise that the Belgian designer draws repeat visits of the cultish variety.

Fashion marketing consultant Jeremy Talamini counts himself as a member of the Margiela fan club, and, like most Margiela wearers, has a specific philosophy on the designer's dress code. "I think it is a uniform of sorts, for the guy who has good taste but doesn't want the label of wearing a label. It is extremely comfortable so you can feel as though you are put together, but maintain the feeling of wearing khakis and a t-shirt. This, for me, is key because so often designer stuff is a burden to actually wear every day—unwieldy buttons, awkwardly placed pockets, for example."

This message also holds muster among men who consider flamboyant fashion awareness to be a major faux pas. Fashion designer Edward Buchanan explains: "I like that it is in a sense discreet, but those who know, know." Uber-stylist Beat Bolliger—whose wardrobe is 65% Margiela, with Marc Jacobs, YSL and Ralph Lauren making up the rest—gushes of his love affair: "the proportions are accurate, there's not too much going in the garment and I buy everything."

Buchanan confesses to owning a wardrobe that's 80% Margiela, noting that he inadvertently finds himself dressed entirely in the designer's garments. "It fits my body well. It's basic but has that fashion edge. You feel dressed up but still casual," he explains. Margiela is one of those brands that's wearable from head to toe. And, with the label's slow expansion into footwear, bags and jewelry, a total look is easy.

Why, then, are fashion-savvy men the leading converts? Is it because it takes a trained eye to recognize the sartorial superiority of Margiela's tailoring and fabric choices? Makeup artist Jabes Vincent (who also runs a spa in Guadalope) offers: "wearing Margiela shows you are not like the other men, like the others who simply like fashion. Margiela lovers are a kind of a little 'aristocracy.' I like this idea, even if it's quite superficial." Buchanan suggests an equally exclusive explanation, but one riddled with other insecurities, saying: "fashion people are, in most cases, afraid of fashion. They like fashion and like to wear it but are afraid to look like a fashion plate."

The image of Margiela as the thinking man's brand is shared by his followers and also serves as a central platform for the label's mystery and mystique. Jim Dorsey, a San Francisco-based fashion executive at E-Luxury, says he's been wearing the label for about ten years and considers "Margiela an investment in intelligent, versatile studied pieces. I also like that there's a vague historical context to each collection (usually '70s disco/rock—an excellent era for menswear). I have to admit, too, that I fall victim to the superficial 'branding' of his clothes: the white lab coats, the anti-marketing of the brand, the perception that the clientele is artistic and renegade and cool. It brings a sense of affiliation that is further enhanced by the four white stitches of his label—which is, after all just as much a badge of identity as the ubiquitous LV monogram canvas."

With such insider appeal, could Margiela ever reach that megabrand status? Parent company Diesel keeps its expansion plans close to the bosom, but there are rumors of forthcoming store openings in Las Vegas, Chicago and San Francisco to join the ranks of his locations in New York, Paris and Los Angeles. Indeed many more stores continue to stock the line worldwide. One can only hope that a wider audience of men will embrace Margiela's smart options when it comes to sartorial choices.
